Batik Anara was born from a deeply personal discovery. After unknowingly purchasing a printed batik shirt instead of authentic handmade batik, the founder began learning about the disappearing art of batik tulis — a meticulous craft created slowly by skilled artisans using traditional hand-drawn techniques passed down through generations.
Moved by the beauty, heritage, and vulnerability of the craft in today’s fast-fashion world, Batik Anara was created to give real batik a new life: contemporary, wearable, and relevant for a new generation. The brand is rooted in preserving authenticity while celebrating the dedication behind every handmade piece.
Named after the word “Anara,” meaning light, the brand hopes to shine a light on the artisans and traditions behind true batik craftsmanship. Every Batik Anara piece carries a human story — one made slowly, intentionally, and by hand.
